Mi nombre es Ren Jones. Soy de Dallas, TX and I’m passionate about helping others become confident, fluent Spanish speakers.

I taught myself Spanish under the Dominican dialect (no, I’m not Latino. Solo de corazón ❤️), and now I'm determined to show other people that learning is not only possible—it can be FUN. And you can learn it without sounding like a textbook, no matter who you are or what your background is.

Since my professional background is in writing and user experience, I’m great at taking complex stuff and turning it into something anyone can understand. I now use these skills to break down the Spanish language and make it simpler and more relatable for learners, which I do for free on TikTok (395K followers) and YouTube (24K subscribers). I started the Blacklingual Discord community in 2023 to create a space where community members can practice together, learn with me during live lessons, get personalized feedback and tips, and ask questions. 

I am on a personal mission to increase the number of Black bilinguals in the United States ✊🏽 so I’ve made sure that Blacklingual is a safe space where Black learners can feel comfortable in their own culture while they learn and become part of another one. This safe space has also stretched to specifically encompass people who are heritage learners (aka “no sabo” kids) who don’t feel safe speaking Spanish with native Spanish speakers that might tease or shame them for not speaking fluent Spanish.
